For my research I made a simple moodboard with variety of films, books, and games that are classed as murder mystery centric productions; I also studied the noir and neo noir styles to help further develop my own final film.
The examples I searched were:
Fables: Legends in Exhile (Comic)
BladeRunner (Film)
Agatha Christies Poirot (Books and TV shows)
Clue (Film)
The Usual Suspects (Film)
Chinatown (Film)
LA Noire (Video Game)
Alfred Hitchcock (various films)
These gave me a good insight into the variety of plots and characters that make up murder mystery productions, and seeing different medias really helped me understand the versatility of the genre.
Looking into these has really given me ideas for final films, and helped refine any existing kernels of ideas. This has made me much more enthusiastic for the project which I know will help me create my final film as I know I suffer from losing interest in a film the longer I spend on it, but having inspiration and benchmarks to meet extends my attention and assists my creation.
